Suzanne Lacy is an artist and writer whose work includes performances, installations, photographs, videos, and texts on art and the public realm. Her prolific career encompasses work from intimate and graphic body explorations to large-scale public performances involving hundreds of performers and thousands of live audience members.

She has currently completed projects on domestic violence in the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid, Spain, and a performance and public installation with scholars and women's advocates in Anyang, Korea.

Lacy has designed and led academic programs, including her current position as Founding Chair of the Otis College MFA Public Practice program. Leaving Art: Writings on Performance, Politics, and Publics, 1974-2007 was published in 2010 by Duke University Press.
