Sarah Fisch studied humanities in the Plan II Honors Program at the University of Texas at Austin, playwriting and theory at the Samuel Beckett Centre for Theatre Studies at Trinity College, Dublin, and writing at The New School in New York City.

Fisch returned to San Antonio from NYC in 2008, after eight years of  crappy jobs, rigorous study, and performing stand-up on the "alt comedy" circuit. She's also written ten books for children, including "Shrek's Gag Book," a popular tie-in joke book for the film "Shrek 2." She's especially proud of this.

Sarah Fisch has worked as Arts Editor/Writer at altweekly newspaper The San Antonio Current, and Arts and Culture Staff Writer for South Texas news site plazadearmas.com. Currently, Fisch writes a blog called Chupacabrona and features for acclaimed TX-based arts website Glasstire, and writes arts and culture features for San Antonio Magazine.

Sarah Fisch is a 2010 Fellow in Theater Writing at the National Endowment for the Arts   / Annenberg / University of Southern California Institute.  She received the Literary Arts Grant from the Artist Foundation of San Antonio in 2010 for a cycle of short stories set in her hometown.

Fisch's humor writing and fiction have been published in Art Star Scene Magazine (NYC), McSweeney's Internet Tendency, and Steel Toe Review, a journal of contemporary Southern Art and Literature. She is also a sound and visual artist.
