Patricia Fernandez was born in Burgos, Spain. She studied in Saint Martins College of Art in London, The University of California, Los Angeles, and received her MFA from California Institute of the Arts in 2010.
Applying an archeological approach, Fernandez's work questions the assumption of truth in our inherited personal histories, reluctantly revealing the inaccuracy of our memory. Through a complex network of forms and information Fernandez embraces the ambiguity of remembering, while seeking to define a personal language that speaks of histories and literature forgotten, misplaced, or buried.
