I see Nature as an expression of Universal wisdom.I grew up on an old farm in Virginia, spending much of my time outdoors in the fields and woods around my house. Plants, animals and insects informed my sense of the world. This was the genesis of my view of Nature as teacher.
I have retained a child's focus and fascination with those things that appeared as treasures in my formative environment. My work reflects this view of the natural world and is influenced by Islamic and Buddhist geometric art and the Asian aesthetic of beauty.
I teach in the Art Department at Lynchburg College. I have a BA in Fine Art from UCLA and an MFA from George Washington University.
