
Christopher V. Walker

Christopher V. Walker serves as treasurer of the USA Board. He has pursued a forty-year career in financial services that has principally focused on private equity. He served as a partner in a pioneering leverage buy out firm, Gibbons, Green, van Amerongen, and co-founded Leonard Green and Partners in 1989. Mr. Walker successfully directed the acquisition and eventual sale of a variety of companies on whose boards of directors he served: Jack in the Box, Rival Manufacturing, Budget Rent-A-Car, Kash-n-Karry Food Stores, and Australian Resources, Ltd. In addition to Los Angeles, Mr. Walker has worked and lived in Hong Kong, the Philippines, and London. He graduated from Claremont McKenna College (BA, political science) and Georgetown University (MA, international finance). Mr. Walker is a current trustee of Claremont McKenna College and the Los Angeles Opera. He also has served on the boards of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and KCET, the Los Angeles-based public broadcasting station. Mr. Walker has two sons and lives in Bel Air and London.
