
Amada Cruz
Amada Cruz joined the staff of United States Artists as Program Director following a twenty-year career in the visual arts as a museum curator and director. Ms. Cruz comes to USA from a two-year stint as Executive Director of Artadia, a nonprofit organization based in New York City that awards grants to visual artists in specific cities in the United States. Prior to that, she worked at the Center for Curatorial Studies Museum at Bard College as Director, and held curatorial posts at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.
Ms. Cruz has served as a juror on numerous grants panels including Dade County Art in Public Places, Miami; Awards in the Visual Arts 10, Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art, Winston-Salem, NC; National Endowment for the Arts, Washington D.C.; Herb Alpert Foundation; The MacDowell Colony; Public Art Fund; and Lannan Foundation. Born in Havana, Cuba, she was raised in Chicago, Miami, and outside of New York. Ms. Cruz lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Rick Harman.
