Meet Los Angeles artist, Miss Ayana Hampton: honored recipient of a 2011 Franklin Furnace Performance Art Award. This $3000.00 grant mandates her work debut in NYC fall 2011. THE MORNING AFTER SHOW  invites you to rally and raise $5000.00 in order to fully finance the project's tour from Los Angeles to NYC. When you help us exceed our goal, you sustain a run in NYC, fuel a tour, pay our talented cast/ designers and finalize professional production of the accompaniying DVD and documentary project, produced by Looking Glass Film's Suzuya Bobo.

Consider, THE MORNING AFTER SHOW a hysterical high-octane-sing-along-libido. The Morning After Band &  Lustrous Black Up Dancers, prompt the Headliner, Ayana, to confront the terminal nature of boho-destitution, fetish, and dishonor. The audience is stoked during this couture-minstrelsy where celebrity icons infect Ayana, as she, the performer, contends shame in obscurity and obsession with greatness.

Once, Richard Pryor, recounted both the shock of setting himself aflame while cooking cocaine and his remorse for the high in the same breath. Similarly, Ayana Hampton freaks out of over the duality of addiction. She serenades a gynecologist about the habit of date-raping oneself and the accountability of American Apparel and Xanax before emerging as the next drag super-star Scheize Minnelli, a diva who insists one put out or get out. The question here,” How do you balance temptation and repulsion? “ How do you keep it entertaining? Try peppering your existence with original songs like Straight Girl in the Corner, B.Y.O.B.G.Y.N. and Never Get a Ponytail composed by Brian Barrale, Ayana Hampton and Marc Mendelson.

“The Morning After Show” is totally unique. No woman of African-decent is presenting this motif with the models in this project: memorable soundtrack, haunting themes, dazzling honesty.

Your wonderful support will help us premier in NYC. Together we unveil THE MORNING AFTER SHOW with all of the integrity worthy of the impulse.
