We will create four super-sweet short films in the coming weeks only stopping in the event of the apocalypse. With humor, heart and joyous bizarre twists & turns, we aim to tickle bones of all manner (including the funny one), creating art in the form of mind-bendingly entertaining cinema. What the world needs now is a good time. And we're dead serious about making humorous flicks. You're welcome, mankind.
Why four short films? Getting one film up and running is a huge undertaking. Half the battle of making any film is putting it together and starting production. By bundling these four super-short films, we can shoot four of them as if they were one larger film. We won't need to rent equiptment on four separate occasions and we won't need four different crews to make this happen. We'll rally the troops and shoot these films in one fell swoop. Efficiency and art collide! Each film will be shot in a single day, in the latter half of this hot-ass summer in Austin, Texas. Heat be damned. All funds raised will be used to pay cast and crew, rent equipment and provide meals. One of our biggest goals is to be able to pay folks a fair wage for their work on the films, and we're not above asking you to help us do that. Our hearts are in the right place, but our wallets are thin and raggedy. People helping people is the way!
Bob Ray is a wold famous filmmaker, animator, documentarian, rabble-rouse, trouble-maker, outlaw and humorist whose work has appeared in a baker's dozens of film festivals, publications across the wasteland and at hundreds of cinemas and museums spanning the great blue marble we call earth. Ray's work ethic is unequalled. He is a prolific filmmaker and creator of art, who cannot be stopped... only slowed down. But don't slow him down. Push him! Make the world a better place. Make people smile. Please help Bob Ray make some art! Bob Ray has crafted three critically acclaimed low-to-no budget features--Total Badass, Hell on Wheels and the narrative, Rock Opera-- and has made countless short films, cartoons and music videos. Countless, because we refuse to count them, but there are lots!

Here is a small sampling of some seriously serious critical quotes about Bob Ray and his films:
TOTAL BADASS:

"The title couldn't be more apt." -Time Out New York
"Total Badass is a wild, unique ride, deep into the Austin counterculture... it's entertaining and shocklingly funny, and undeniably touching... a thunderbolt of a documentary." -Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

"Total Badass is everything you've heard it is and more. It's easily the best documentary that I've seen this year. Total Badass is massively entertaining to watch, it thoroughly delivers on the promise of its title, and the ending comes together so well, in fact, that I initially believed that it might have been staged." -The National Examiner
HELL ON WHEELS:
"Hell on Wheels is an epic doc. It's fast, fun and inspiring." -Chris Gore (founder, Film Threat Magazine)
"...the kind of twists, drama, cat fights and compound fractures that only happen in real life... the story is extremely compelling, sometimes laugh-out-loud outrageous and above all inspiring." -Ain't It Cool News
"Hell on Wheels is full of adrenaline-fueled highs, heartbreaking lows, and lots of chicks in short skirts kicking the shit out of each other." -Onion's A.V. Club
"Bone-crunching collisions, behind-the-scenes drama and roller skates are all part of the outrageous documentary...a smashingly entertaining feature!" -Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
ROCK OPERA:
"Hilarious" **** (4 of 4 stars) -Toronto Eye
"Rock Opera is damn funny." -The Seattle Stranger
"Genuinely warped...scathingly hilarious...a spot-on quasi-parody of the day-to-day existence of struggling Austin musicians and their wayward ways." -The Austin Chronicle
"Truly suspenseful... terribly funny... Rock Opera puts Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas to shame." -San Francisco Weekly
