I am an independent singer/songwrter and musican raising funds to record songs for an album with the working title Revenge. Acoustic demos of five of the songs can be found by clicking here. The funds will be used for a flight to California from Pennsylvania, paying a session drummer, my (cheap) meals while in CA, and promotion of the album on various social networks. My producers, Fernando Perdomo and Chris Price, are good friends who have waived their up front fees, in order to make the fundraising process easier.
Most of the songs that will appear on the album are autobiographical, and, directly or otherwise, are about the life and relationships of a person who struggles with severe anxiety and depression.
If this album is marketed well enough to become a success, I won't need all the money it receives to maintain my lifestyle, so here's where most of it is going:
Through personal messages, I've discoverd a number of my fans also wrestle with mental illness or some kind of hindering disability. Because of this, I intend to give half of the proceeds from the album directly to people who bought it - each month, I'll randomly select a person to receive half of what the album earned in the previous month. I've met people who have bought my music while unable to afford other things they truly need. I don't want that to continue to happen. The album will be available at the price of the listener's choosing, and doubles as a "virtual raffle ticket".
Additionaly, a portion of my half of the proceeds will go to Nuçi’s Space, a memorial organization that helps provide treatment for musicans suffering from depression.
